Indie Artist Lounge Update

Hey there! Alex here. Just wanted to give a quick update on where things are at with Indie Artist Lounge.

You may have noticed that Indie Artist Lounge has fallen pretty quiet lately. I mostly just wanted to check in, let you know that I’m ok, and give you a bit of an idea of what’s happening.

In early to mid December of last year, I started going through a bit of burnout. Nothing terribly serious, but I could see the signs, and didn’t want to push myself too hard. I know that burnout can be extremely damaging, and so I decided to really step back and take a good break.

Since then I’ve done a lot of personal reflection, and thought a lot about what I want to do. Can’t say I’ve gotten it figured out yet, but at least I’m feeling a lot better, and working on some new things that are quite interesting to me. Also trying to be a little less busy, which helps a lot.

I’m not sure what that means for my music yet, or for Indie Artist Lounge. I fully believe that I’m going to get back into it, but it’s going to be on a back burner for a while. I’m still here though, so please feel free to leave a comment or email me with any problems or issues that you need help with. I’m more than happy to get in touch and help you out.

Good luck in all of your music-making endeavors! Hope to hear from you soon.

Alex

  1. You’re not alone, Alex! With family situation and kids I have also been though burnouts, so I feel you. Just went back to your site to check out that mix lift with EQ automation video to refresh my memory and saw that there were very few and far apart updates, began to worry.

Good to know that you’re doing good and not quitting the IAL πŸ™‚

  2. Hey Alex! What’s new, my friend? Been over a year since I saw anything new posted here… wondering how you’re doing.

Things have been busy on my end as well, I still can’t find enough traction to complete an EP yet, mainly because of little time and lack of energy due to many things family-related. I’ve failed to keep whatever deadline I set, but finally quit worrying about it and decided to let my music making happen at a pace that it requires in my situation. I can’t be like anyone else out there and everyone’s situation in life is different. Even if I record a line or a phrase per week, or month, I’m happy πŸ™‚
